Cuff Links by Historical Perspective

Cuff Links started in the 1500s as cuff strings. these strings helped tie the ends of the shirt like  those pirate shirts we all dreamed of. The cuff string gave way to painted buttons or metal buttons in the 1700s and was made famous by Louis XIV of France who was quite the cuff links collector. The cuff link functioned as a way to fasten the ends of a shirt to create a tight fit. Today, the cuff links tradition continues in both Europe and America as well as the far east. Cuff Links seem to transcend fashion but are clearly a mark of sophistication.Wear more Cuff Linksancient cufflinks
