Stimulus Package: Corporate Gifts

It may not get covered by all of the major media outlets, or require several days deliberation, but a home-grown “stimulus package” of sorts—in the way of corporate gifts—for a corporate executive or small-business owner can be very effective in boosting morale. In a time when rumor and fears are running rampant, those in leadership positions in the workplace would do well to let their workers know that they are appreciated, and part of a team.

To that end, our store has much to offer in the way of corporate gifts. One way to remind everyone that they are working towards a common goal is to give them a gift bearing the company insignia or logo. Our store offers engravable cufflinks and other items. My favorites are these Classic Round Engravable Cufflinks and this Round Silver Keyring:

Both of these are so classic and tasteful that they are sure to please the varied personalities that make up your business team.

Two Days Away

Well, there are only two days until Valentine’s Day. Are you all set, or will you be fighting the crowds at the mall for some last-minute shopping? I’ve never been much of a mallrat myself, so I tend to do most of my shopping online, even when it is last-minute. If you’re still looking for something for the guy in your life, our store has loads to offer, and overnight shipping! These “Je T’aime” Cufflinks are my favorites:

I think that they’re a great way to give a loved one a wearable reminder that he’s always in your heart. Or, if you’ve been dropping hints to your best pal that you want to exit buddyville to become something more, these are also great. (Just remember to give him a link to a translation if he isn’t a Francophile!)

Happily Ever After

After the ceremony, after the toasts, after the dances, after all the presents are opened, what’s left? What happens after the year of being engaged and planning a wedding? What happens after the event? Married life may not give you as many opportunities for formal attire or Jordan almonds wrapped in organza, but it is so much bigger than the wedding. Marriage is hard work, but it is also so much bigger and greater than a single day of celebration.

This is why couples celebrate their wedding day each year. They don’t celebrate the day they wore fancy clothes and hung out with 300 of their nearest and dearest. Rather, an anniversary is a special occasion because it is a chance to celebrate another year of love, another year of sharing a life together, another year of working to be there for one another. What better way to end our wedding week than to showcase these Hearts & Wedding Ring Cufflinks that celebrate love and marriage?

Giving the Entourage Their Due: Bridesmaids Gifts

To continue on a theme, we can’t neglect the bridesmaids. They certainly provide just as much moral support as groomsmen, and often do more in the way of preparing for the wedding. Indeed, in some cases, the night before the wedding, as the groom and his entourage are out on the town, the bride and the bridesmaids are doing last minute preparations like gluing teeny tiny bows on placecards designating where guests should sit, or wrapping yogurt-covered almond wedding favors. (Hopefully, they have already enjoyed themselves at a bachelorette party or bridal shower weeks before!) In any case, they certainly deserve a little something for all of their support. I like this Cranberry Colored Jewelry Box:

It is practical and classic, and would serve well on any bureau. If budget allows, you can even add a pair of earrings or bracelet to the box and make it even more special!

Giving the Entourage Their Due: Groomsmen Gifts

At many weddings, the couple is joined by a wedding party made up of bridesmaids, groomsmen, and/or attendants. While these people are important on the day of the wedding, they stand with the couple because of all that they’ve done before the wedding. Bridesmaids, groomsmen, and attendants are typically made up of you best friends and/or siblings. They’ve been around for years, and their participation in the wedding shows that they plan on sticking around in the couple’s life. Most couples opt to give the members of the wedding party gifts to thank them not only for that day, but for all that they have done before.

The question is, what to give? With all the hustle and bustle— literally —of preparing for the big day, there just may not be enough time for an excursion to the mall to get several gifts. Fortunately, our store can make things easier!

As you can see here, we have a variety of options for groomsmen gifts in our store, including cufflinks. Cufflinks are a traditional groomsman gift for a reason; they’re practical, and they never go out of style.

I like these Sterling Rectangular Engraveable Cufflinks:

Their clean design makes them a classic, and the fact that you can customize them is a boon. These cuff links will work for many events long after the wedding. Taking the extra bit of effort to customize a gift shows how much you care, and finding time to do so while preparing a huge event like a wedding is even more significant. Isn’t your entourage worth it?

Wedding Week

Welcome to Wedding Week at Cufflinks blog! All this week, we’re going to feature wedding cufflinks you can find from our store. We’re also going to talk about wedding traditions and the ways people their weddings personal. Let’s go!

One thing that a lot of people like to do for weddings these days is to honor their heritage. We’re very fortunate in this country in that so many of our ancestors come from different places, and a wedding is a great opportunity to share the traditions of your ancestors with friends and family. If one of the members of the couple is Irish, these Claddagh Cufflinks would be a gorgeous option:

Of course, wearing these (or perhaps our Sterling Celtic Design Cufflinks) is a great way for an Irish couple celebrate their background, but it is also a lovely way for the Irish member of the couple to welcome the other into their family. This spirit would make these and other ethnic-inspired cufflinks a great gift for a groom, the bestman, groomsmen, or the father of the bride or groom. Weddings are all about family, and what better way to welcome loved ones into yours than through sharing traditions?

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

This post is a short one. I hope that everyone is enjoying the end of the long-weekend today. For those of us taking it easy and staying indoors on this day off, there’s been a lot of coverage on television and radio about tomorrow’s inauguration. That said, there have also been some reminders as to why we have today off in the first place. As we look forward to where we’re going as a nation, let’s not forget where we’ve come from and all those who have been so important along the way:

Let’s all work to keep the dream alive. (Note: the above Martin Luther King, Jr. Cufflinks are available in our store.)

Comfort Food for Cold Weather

Winter has definitely set in. Much of the country is in the midst of a deep freeze, and my neighborhood is no exception. I tend to be a bit of a homebody in general, but I especially prefer to stay in when the mercury dips. I find no better time than during a cold spell to make some of my favorite comfort foods. I’m quite the foodie, and my husband is as well, so that equals a household of cooks and eaters. Indeed, this set of Chef Hat & Spoon Cufflinks represent us well:

Yesterday, we made gallons of bean soup. It is a great way to warm up after facing the elements outside. We’ve frozen much of it so as to have easy suppers in the weeks to come. As the winter wears on, we’ll make other comforting dishes like roasts and casseroles; it’s one of the best parts of the season.

Signed, Sealed & Delivered

Well, in just a few short days, President-Elect Obama will be sworn in as our 44th president. President Bush has already given his farewell speech, and preparations are being made throughout Washington, D.C. to prepare for the inauguration. Things are sure to be very exciting for the next week. I actually know a few people who are going to the inauguration, as well as some who are going to Washington just to be near this historic event.

While I won’t be able to be there in person, I will be keeping up with all the events on TV, radio, and the predictable texts from friends who will be in attendance. It won’t be the same as being there, but January 20th is going to be a big deal for me all the same, and I’m sure that I’ll remember it in the years to come. At our store, we have some Presidential Seal Cufflinks that would be perfect to commemorate this event:

New Years Redux

How was your New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day? I usually have a good time on both days, but this year, my New Year’s Day was considerably better than my New Year’s Eve. To use some of our cufflinks as convenient visual aids, my New Year’s Eve was more akin to these Aspirin Cufflinks:

…than these Champagne Bottle Cufflinks:

Since we were both still suffering from head-colds, the hubby and I stayed in for New Year’s Eve, and just barely managed to keep awake long enough to watch the ball drop on TV. (The aspirin was, alas, not to cure the results of overindulging in champagne, but rather to contend with a cold related headache.)

After sleeping in, however, we were in far better spirits the next day, and managed to have a nice New Year’s Day with two great meals. Our household is a “multi-culti” one, if you will, so we had bagels and lox for brunch, and a soulfood dinner of rice, black-eyed peas, and greens for dinner. Both meals were a great start to 2009, and reminded us that we usually have more to be thankful about than to be worried or concerned. (Perhaps this is why Cufflinks Depot has so many fun and whimsical cufflinks?)

How did you celebrate the beginning of 2009?
